Noise Meter

The Interactive Classroom Noise Meter provides real-time visual feedback to help students self-regulate room noise during independent work, group activities, or testing. By utilizing your device's microphone, the tool converts ambient audio into a dynamic visual gauge that transitions from green (appropriate volume) to yellow (caution) and red (too loud).

To begin, grant microphone access when prompted and adjust the sensitivity slider to match your current classroom setting—set it lower for quiet reading or higher for collaborative projects. Click the full-screen button to project the high-contrast gauge onto your smartboard or interactive display, making sound levels easily visible from any seat in the room.

For automated classroom management, toggle on the soft chime alert. When noise remains in the red zone for longer than three seconds, a gentle audio cue plays to remind students to lower their voices. This hands-off system eliminates the need for constant verbal interruptions and encourages self-monitoring.
